In trouble with Founders performance

Hi there.

I'm new to this forum as a user, but I often had a look at it since I have my stock 1983 camaro z28. These boards are a gold mine for third gen lovers.

Despite very good reviews on this website, I have some trouble with founders performance. Here's a little more about the story.

I ordered Panhard bar, lower arms controls, and their relocation bracket in order to lower my camaro. But I'm in France, and the creation of an account was problematic. Anyway, I contacted their sales service and they helped me to finalize everything. Like the good reviews here, good service. So I process the order and paid on 03/05... they sent me the tracking usps number and I wait. 03/13, the package arrived in Paris but seemed to be blocked for unknown reason (maybe a size problem, I guess...). Next tracking information located my package back in California on the 03/28, I assume that the package was returned to the sender.

Since past wednesday, I try to contact them in order to know how we can procceed, I want my pieces, not a refund yet so I just want to solve the problem. I'm sure it's a size package problem, here in France, the limit for regular postal service is 150cm and I guess the Panhard bar is larger... just use Fedex or DHL (270 or 300cm limit) could solve the problem. I will pay the balance if needed of course. But nothing from Founder's Performance yet despite my 3 emails explaining that.

FP seems honest in my opinion but I paid $340 and I have nothing and no news, I'm a little bit nervous about that. If someone here could help me to contact them I will be very pleased... any ideas are welcome.

Thank you for reading.

Yea overseas shipping is a hassle, I've had similar issues and best to check before ordering the issues that my arise with customs

Re: In trouble with Founders performance

Yes, but I used to have no problem until now, I paid the customs tax and if I could go through, it can happen sometimes here, it's a good surprise. But this time something goes wrong, and I'm not sûre it's due to the customs... but according to FP, it's due to a wrong address format, I really think it's due to the size limit of the package. But anyway, my package is in California and for now I just asked to FP if they can have a little help to minimize the new shipping cost. I will finish to pay 3 times this panhard bar. I already paid shipping the first time, I just asked FP to pay the difference with the Fedex shipping quote but not the whole thing again. The Panhard bar, lower arms controls and relocation brackets will cost me nearly 550$... for a package value less than 200$... I paid 150$ for first shipping but have nothing... I expect for something.

It looks like Founders responded to you with options, has the issue been resolved?

Yes, solved. And I really want to thank them. They seem busy these days... but I think it's solved. I wait for my package now.

Nice they fixed. I think the bigger question is a thirdgen in France? That's awesome.

Yes, very cool car, pretty rare here, but you can find few of them. I think it was never sold here but some guys import them. Mine came from a town near Amsterdam so not France but still EU. First owner in North Carolina in 1983. I still have the papers. Imported in Deutschland in 2008 and I'm still in the administrative work to import it here.

A nice picture with the eiffel tower in the background would be super cool. Hope you get your parts.
