I wouldnt mind seeing this either. I think it could look good if done right. I think it would look sweet on an SS hood for sure.

Ive seen a polo green RS with gold heritage strips and pinstriping, and it looked really good imo, and it's a really dark green, close to how it would look on black.

How come the gold stripes on this link look different than the one FastElectrics posted? I do like the gold a lot better that 89Warbird
has. Maybe it could it be because its black and not polo green.Any way you could make that theme incorporate my roof(i have a hard top) like the heritage stripes on the hood? I want the same color gold as 89Warbird, does this have to be during paint or after?

if you are going with vinyl or decals for the stripes do it after paint, obviously.. but if you are painting the stripes on , it might bet better to get the paint shop to do it all at the one time if possible

Ok here is a shot of the car in the spray booth. This is the first time I have ever masked and painted a car. But I think I did quite well. More pictures will follow once I get it all back together. This is Picture #84 of the whole process I've done on my car. I made the pin stripe around the main one an 1/8th inch wide. Looks really good. I used BASF as my paint system. Stripes are code MY052.20

actually the hood has pretty much no orange peel.. The driver side door has some.. and there is a little is some other spots.. But for being my first paint job I did pretty good. I'm gonna try to polish out the driver side door .. but there is some on the front clip which sucks.. because I'm a little un sure of doing that one. Fear of wrecking the finish. (also the picture got distorted when I scaled it down. Pics where taken with a 5 megapixel minolta digital camera.

That looks great. Another combination that you might try is using argent (or gun metal grey metallic). It depends on what you want to do, on my black 83, I did the louvers (86 hood) in this color along with all of the Z-28 emblems. It is very subdued, so you have to actually look at the car to see the detail.
Also, about that orange peel,.. you can always do a little "scuff and buff".

Ya, tomorrow. I'm wet sanding the door and buffing it up. I sanded & buffed out the three runs, and some dirt in the finish. Starting to look good. Only problem I found is the front bumper somehow I missed a small area with the base and the clear was a bit dry.. so I'll be spotting in the base and re clearing the front again. but I know I can make it better. The front actually could use a bit more clear anyways.

Re: black camaros with gold stripes
Do you have the original paint code that that ship was derived from? I called BASF and they said all they have is the chip but without a Oleum code to start with they can't do anything with that code. I'd love to have that gold on my 69 Camaro

Chances are none of these people are still around to answer. Not sure if there is anyway to find an answer for your question
