birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
The title says it all so let's see them. I am redoing my 86 bird and I have a power bulge hood that I can use, but I don't currently have the money to buy the fiberglass wrap around spoiler. So I'm just curious if it would look funny with a powerbulge hood and base spoiler. I have only seen one on here. I don't know who it belongs to but It is dark gray with gray 17" tt2's. I think it is very sharp. So lets see them.

Re: birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
The 86 firebird did not come with powerbulge hood and only came with flat spoiler. I have a 87 Formula that has a powerbulge hood (vin on hood matches car) and a flat spoiler. Also has third brakelight on hatch. I was thinking it as repalced but had factory wiring going to it. ???? I think at that point there were the red headed step child of pontiac.

Re: birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
Yeah I know, I should have made myself more clear. My car has the flat hood and spoiler, but I have another hood that I purchased that is a powerbulge. I would like to make it look like a 1987-1990 formula. I loved those cars. I even have a set of the 16" cross lace rims that I am going to use as well. If I ever get a wrap around spoiler I am not going to use the third brake light in the spoiler and just use my third brake light on the hatch.

If I'm not mistaken, the 82-84 T/A's had the power bulge hood and the flat wing.

Thanks guys keep them coming. There is one on here somewhere that Is dark gray with gray tt2's. It has a bird on the hood that flows over onto the fenders and doors. I would love to see more pics of it, but I can not find it anymore. You know how it is you see something a thousand time then when you go to look for it you can't find it

Re: birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
I actually had an 83 with a power bulge hood and base spoiler but I hated the hood and replaced it with an 85-90 TA hood, and added all of the 85-90 GFX. Just personal preference. I probably have pics of the car w/ the power bulge but that was before it got painted and upgraded so I don't want to make anyone throw up looking at them. LOL
I like the flat spoiler much more than the wrap around anyway. Go for it.

Re: birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
Oh my god I actually found the before and after pictures.
Here is "before". Base model 1983 V6 Firebird that someone added a bulge hood to:
ftp://members.aol.com/bondospecial/transam/original.jpg
After: I got rid of the bulge hood and swapped to an 85-90 TA hood, added 85-90 ground effects, did the body work, and paint myself in a garage w/ HVLP gun and a medium sized oil less air compressor. Also converted to V8.:

Re: birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
Here is mine. We got the hood at a junkyard for $100 If you can believe it, it's spray painted right now. There is definitly a difference in clarity when you get up to it, and it doesn't have the deepness from far away, but EVERYONE I tell is surprised that it's rattle-canned.

Re: birds with base spoilers and powerbulge hoods
I like the look of the base car with a powerbulge. I swapped my T/A hood for one. Now I want a fiberglass one, but can't seem to find one.
