Re: black out directionals?

Is this what you mean???? If so it took me about 15 minutes and two pieces of 28 percent grey plexi. You could still see the signal light blinking no problems. I went through a few random safety spot checks with no issues.

Re: black out directionals?

I would just use the VHT niteshades. I used it on my taillights on my last car, and it worked awesome.

However, if his plexiglass is removable that would be better probably.

Re: black out directionals?

I used VHT on the front fender side markers. Enough VHT niteshade to black them out completely. The side marker lit up red which is not what I was going for. I even blacked out a 92 side marker which was more yellow than my 86 orange-ish side marker. It still lit up red. This was with stock bulbs, amber LED bulbs might be different.

My advice: Get clear front fender side markers and apply vht niteshade to them. I can't promise it would work but it should have a better chance of lighting up orange or yellow, not red.

Re: black out directionals?

I used VHT Nite Shades on mine. I think it was 4 coats, but it could have been 5.

And this is a pic on the ground level of a Parking Garage with the lights on during the day. They still light up Orange just fine.

I'm talking about the front fender side markers, not the front bumper blinkers that are seen directly from the front.

Re: black out directionals?

Clear ones on my Camaro, painted with Nightshade, and like MNformula350, they light up orange just fine with a colored bulb behind them.

They look black when not on, Here is a pic in the sun head on of the car (there is a slight glare from the Red paint):

Here is a pic at night with a Digital Camera with the flash on, and the flash lit the lens up orange:

I used 4 or 5 coats of the Nite Shaes (I don't recall), when I did it.

Re: black out directionals?

YOu should be able to order a can from Summit, but the "Handling" fee is just as much as the can itself, so it'll come out to around $20.00

Re: black out directionals?

You might also get it at your local parts store. Ask for VHT Nightshade.
