Re: Tans Am side mirrors on a camaro
I'd have to say fouth gen. I know there are some Firebirds running around with them, don't know if I've seen them on a Camaro though.
You could probably find out how to mount them step by step with a search. I don't like the way they look compared to the original third gen. mirrors and I don't think they'd match the lines on a Camaro very well, but if you like them go for it.

Re: Tans Am side mirrors on a camaro
either check out Stephen or my posts in a search and you will see some pics of 4th gen mirrors on firebirds. From there have someone photo shop them in. I can take a new pic if you give me the angle you want to make imposing it on the other photo more simple, otherwise if i manage to take apart my camaro doors anytime soon i will throw those on real quick for a pic for ya but it's in storage right now under a cover so it's a PITA to get to, besides the fact it's about to not have a rear axle so i can't exactly move it.

Re: Tans Am side mirrors on a camaro
i was extremely hesitant at first thought, but i'm fully satisfied with the modifications so far. They look good, they function (kinda, lol), and i think that they work decently with the body. Camaro on the other hand is very hard lines as far as body lines so i'm not sure how they would look. Probably why they had to incorporate the front fenders with the mirrors on the camaro cause it didn't look that good but who knows!!! Be a pioneer...cause i haven't seen one camaro owner try it.

yeah 4th gen firebird or trans am mirrors on a 3rd gen camaro, or some way to modify the 3rd gen mirrors on that little spot on the window.

Re: Tans Am side mirrors on a camaro
you could modify the thirdgen mirror instead of having the pedisatal on the bottom to the side of it...but i don't know what kind of metal it is so welding is prob out of the question...i'm assuming it's aluminum, and then it would push it foward a bit and might look odd and have a poor range, especially on the passenger side, and then it might look odd with just that little pedistal mounting on the triangle as apposed to the fourth gen firebird mirrors fit perfectly into our triangles and are molded far enough back to be just about even with the original mirror location.
