So I park both my gta and formula in the driveway everyday both cars gets smothered in bird poop. little did i know there is a birds nest on my roof. {of all places they pick my roof lucky me} i have used spary detailer with a microfiber towel with no luck. this stuff is so caked on the paint it takes alot of scrubing to remove. Im asking is there any other stuff out there that works better them my way. If i have to go to plan B I use A clay bar. Another thing. What should I do about the birds nest. I would like it gone. any ideas.

you take out the enemy base, thats how you get rid of the problem, and pour some foul chemicals up there so that they dont come back, if it comes to it, take out your rifle and shoot the mother bird so that the rest of the enemis fall into panick and never come back.

That will definitely ruin paint.

If you can, get about a gallon of medium hot water mixed with a quality car shampoo. Soak the trouble areas with the water & car shampoo, wiping with Terry or micro cloth-- don't rub hard, let the wash mix do the work!!
Bird poo has a fine texture grit & will leave small swirls.

After soaking & washing, flood with clean water. Do Not do this to windows--if the water is still too hot, it may crack or shatter!!!
There may be some places where the poo has dis colored or marred the
clear coat.

May as well wash the whole thing while you're cleaning.

Quality clay bar kit, rub compound, wax.

Til the birds leave, you get a cat ( but they like to sit on hoods & scratch while jumping up ) or make a covered parking area......

Guys i don't want to kill the birds. lol. I was thinking of getting an owl statue. Im not sure if that will scare them away. Im thinking of getting a ladder and moving the nest out of there. but boy im getting tired of cleaning my cars everyday from them.

I have a similar problem with my old T-Bird that I have to keep parked outside. I invested in a good car cover and solved the problem. Of, course, it not my daily driver so I don't have to mess with the cover every day but it's only a 5 min. job to remove install the cover. You probably spend more time that that cleaning them.

Yep - even WalMart has decent car covers for $50, takes 60 seconds to put on/take off.

Go one size bigger than whatever cover the box states you need (I've found they run a tad small).

I'd always go with only cotton towels personally. Get it up quick. May be a no duh to you, but just a mention its quite acidic from the berries and such. Dish detergent will be more basic and be mildy stronger on tougher caked on spots. I'm usually very friendly towards our feathered friends but jeez,..find a way to evict em. Good paint jobs aren't low budget

well i had an even worse issue, intead of birds i had this tree with red little sticks, they would get all over my chevelle and i had to blow them out every week, i dont know how but it got all the way to my AC

warm soapy water! Try to get rid of it asap.Use a good wax (meguiars nxt).
Usually a birds eggs hatch in 10 to 14 days depending on the bird.If you live in an area where there is a lot of wildlife you are better off just embracing it! I used to get bird poo on my cars too...but I put a few birdhouses outback. :-)
Keep a MF towel and some QD on hand...the longer the poo lingers the harder it will be to remove and it could etch into your clear if left on too long.
I agree with others that maybe a car cover would be a great investment!

you could try to relocate the nest to a nearby tree and rig your roof up with owl statues and chrome windmills and stuff.. but id just go with a really light easy car cover, if you have a lot of birds in your area its gonna happen anyway nest or not

depending on where you park a car canopy is also an idea, that way you can still look at your cars sans the poop, ive seen pretty big nice ones for a couple hundred bucks + you can use them for lots of other stuff

my cars are in the rough stages right now and i have tons of birds but when i get them painted im going the canopy route

I have had it with this problem too. I'm seriously thinking about the bb gun route. A neighbor has the owl statue, and it no longer seems to be working, although it did at first. We did have a red hawk flying in the area one day, and it seemed to do the trick, all of the birds(piegons mostly) were out of the area fast or trying to hide real quick. I'm wondering if there is anyone who "rents" red hawks or if there is such a thing.(wishful thinking)

Well i put the owl up there but it seems its not working. Tomorrow im going up there and moving the nest and spraying bleach up in the old nesting area.

Thanks for the info. I blocked off the hole the birds were nesting in. Ha lets see were they go now.
