Wow, looks good! Didnt know you could do such a thing. How much does that run if you dont mind me asking? Looks like something I'd want to do down the road if I ever find a house/garage. I've been wanting to completely tear apart a car and restore/build it from the ground up, such as it looks like you are doing.

now put the stuff back in it and clear coat it, see how many accidents you can cause. lol no wait, accidents arent funny, but you owuldnt have a problem with lack of "shine" it would have plenty. i want to do that to my car before i get it painted, but i odnt know how much it is, and i dotn have the room for the teardown.

i had place and time i would do it.
makes me want to go to a junkyard and buy just a good t top body and build rest of it to my tastes lol

i had the car stripped at this place. its local to me. only about an hour away. total cost was only $200 more then having it sand blasted. finall bill was $1000 Canadian.

it will be some time before i am ready for paint. there is alot of body work that needs to be done. and i have some changes i want to make as well

at this time i am not sure on a colour.

i keep a log of my progress with lots of pics as i go. that you can see here

That's great dude, your shell looks like it is in really good shape. I'm completely redoing my 82 berlinetta. except I don't have the money to get the shell stripped and re-undercoated and corrosion protected. so I'm just doing one part (panel) at a time.

new passenger side door skin. used passenger side quarter. partial floor pan, still gotta get a right side inner wheel well, and still have to fix the rust behind my front glass. haven't looked at the undercarriage or the rockers yet. I'll try and get some more pics later.

i found a place that was willing to prime the shell for me. and i managed to get it done today. good thing i dont think it would have been able to go much longer. it was already starting to rust. i got to do almost all the work myself, it took the better part of a day

Simply awesome. That car will be incredible when completed. By the way, where was it sitting? That was a lot of rust. I ask because my Iroc has been sitting for 2 years...in a gararge. Just wondering how that low mileage car got all that rust. Thanks!

i bought it real cheap from a dealer. it was a trade in. it was a one owner car. from the looks of the under side it sat 1/2 in the grass and have on somthing else. but i cant say for sure.

yours sitting is a gararge will fair way better than this one did

You know what scares me about those pics.... The fact that when I saw the interior pics and the before pics, it didn't look like Rust was all that much of a problem. All I can say is WOW. Could you see/feel the rust before you pulled the carpet?

I'm working on my interior and the carpet will be the next to go.

That is the same thing I thought and is what has me worried. Crap, my car only saw 3 winters at most, but some of these rust posts have me buggin' out. Hopefully 87 Irocs have special immunity to rust...
