Width of headliner material

Width of headliner material
I want to recover my headliner and had a quick question. Will 4' wide material cover a hardtop or do I need to purchase 54" wide minimum?

4' might be pushing it
but im not sure because i never redid my headliner although it needs it but im not forunate enough to have a nice board so ill have to replace that too
