interior transplant
ok..... i searched for "door panels and got like 2000 results..... so i decided i better post :-P
so, I let my friend drive my 89 trans am that was in MINT condition.... he totaled .... ne wayz... i bought an 85 for $500 hoping to use all the parts from my 89 to fix this one up.... I tore the interior out of the 85 (the $500 one).... so i've came across a couple things i want to know how to take out a little more careful so i don't ruin them taking them out of the one that "was mint"..... the biggest thing is the door panels... how do i take them out w/o ripping the cardboard... and if i mess up those plastic clips... where can i get new ones.... the interior out of the 85 was sooo messed up i'm not even sure how the top black plastic peice on the door was supposed to come out.... and the windows in the 85 are really sloppy... like if i grab them they move all around... any way to tighten them up? ... like they move from side to side when their up and the door is open (they're power windows if it matters).... the other thing is the carpet.... any way to tear it out of the 89 without ripping all the insulation to bits? ... and where do i buy that stuff that it's originally stuck down with?

Also, to add about adjusting your windows:
https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...owadjust.shtml
This is fairly common apparently, follow the guide, then you can always ask questions if you get stuck.
oh yea, those plastic clips, even with the removal tool, plan on breaking quite a few, they are brittle from time... and they aren't exactly cheap, considering what they are, something like $.8 per around here!
if you're digging in a self serve junk yard, you probably should get some of the window guides, if you need them, (i'm missing one in my car, that's part of the reason my windows are sloppy), then pick up some decent condition "christmas tree screws" there, if you can find some in good shape...
