i am wondering if the weatherstripping that goies around the door is what makes the window stable? i cannot tell mine is gone and the window is adjusted right but still has slop when you have the window open. thanks

ok, let me make sure i have this right. when you say window weather stripping do you mean the pieces atteched to the door that rub against the window while opening/closing. or do you realy mean window weatherstripping as in the foam rubber that gos from the front of the apillar up the window/door jamb (on car not on door) around the t-top opening (if applicable) and down the other side of the doiorjamb?
if it is the window seals (on the door) then yeah, that could be it. if it is the doorjamb weatherstripping then good ***, i hope it does not rain where you live, ever.
a picture would be good.
i like pictures.

its on the door itself. the one that goes around the bottom and up to the top again.

if you have a pic of what the door is supposed to look like with the weatherstripping intact that would help me out sooooo much. haynes only has so many pics and most of them really don't help.

yeah man that weatherstripping that goes from the bottom of the door to the top will DEFINATELY keep the water out...but has nothing to do with the spacing of your doors (especialy your windows ^o)) if you mean your door spacing thats where pins and shims come in

Windows on third gen cars generally rattle bad when done on most cars. There are some rollers on the bottom of the glass that get worn and let the window slop around when you shut the door. Helps some to not roll the window clear down, not much.
