What is this...

This black strip in the middle of the door panel. This is the driver side i beilive my passenger side did not have it.

I replaced my door panels and the panels i received did not have this...so what is it? Whats the purpose? tryed to get the best light possible...any closer and it gets blurry. Its a straight black piece of plastic with 2 grooves in it.

I was wondering the same. We need to get together and do some racing. I got some T-Maxxes and several 4wd touring cars

That black strip could be anything, you know GM. Could be one of those last minute additions to solve some fitment or NVH problems.

I think that was done on a few cars to keep the top edge of the vinyl on the handle from peeling up like they do...
