New Interior is installed!!!!
Well, the interior is finally recovered and installed. Here are some pics of what it looks like now. I am very pleased with how it looks. For those of you who don't know, I am building my own KITT replica. Putting on my own touches to the car. That is why I went all black instead of the doe skin like the originla had. The back part of the seats are still needing to be recovered. I have the fabric and the pieces to recover just need a warm place to do it as well as doing some painting on a piece you will see below. The side pieces that go over the hinges on the seats will be installed after I paint them. They are grey right now and Iwill be painting them black to go with the seats but then again I can't do that until it warms up a bit.

I also fabricated a bracket to hold my lower console in place. Here are a few pics of it and of the console installed. The lower console will get painted gloss black along with the bracket to hide it as well.

I got the idea for the bracket from a friend and how he installed his lower console. Thanks Jeremiah for the idea even though you didnt know I borrowed it from you.

i have to recover the back parts of my pmds also how do they come off???
looks good by the way lets see with some paint on that console. Oh and if your bracket ever brakes off it would be better to add some matting in before you fiberglass it on next time...to add strength.

The back parts of the pmd's are held on by the same type of clips that the door panels are held on. You mainly just pry it off. The clips push into holes in the back of the seats. I have to get new ones to put on mine before it goes back on.
The bracket actually has a couple layers of fiberglass cloth on it. I put the resin on thick to help hold it as well. Seems fairly strong right now. I was going to paint the console this week but it is too cold right now and I dont have a heated area to paint in so that will have to wait for a couple weeks.

Dang dude,
Looks like a project and a half you have going on there, everything is looking awsome (love the seats.) Best of luck on your project and keep up the great work.

Yes it is. I bought the PMD seat covers kit from Hawks along with the new carpet. I love the way it turned out.

They are not as hard as you may think they are if you just take your time with it. You can read more about it here on this post of ones that someone else did The Foundation :: View topic - Recovering PMD's The best thing I can say to do is just go slow and take your time. Try and remember where the old hog rings came out of, if you have a digital camera take pics of where they are at so you do remember that is what I did. In the post the guy says to use 2 pliers to get the old hog rings out, I use a pair of side cutters and cut them all out since I was putting new ones in anyway. It definitly not something I would want to do again but I could if I wanted to.

Seat covers from Hawks $359
Extra fabric to cover the rear part of the pmd seats $20
Hog ring pliers from eastwood $29.99
pack of 100 hog rings from eastwood(2 or 3 packs) $1.99 each
This is everything that I bought to do my seats. Hope this helps.
