i could normally answer this on my own, but i dont have my car here right now. i was thinking about changing the colour of my car from red to black. i was wondering if the engine bays on these cars are normally painted to match the body or if they are always black. i just dont want to have a black car with a red engine bay is all. thanks.

 

I believe they were all body color from the factory. There was some difference on the top of the cowl panel by the windshield wipers , some were black some were body color but if you are doing your car black count on painting the engine bay.

 

yes, they were all body color under the hood, but like said above, one of the production plans, dont remember which one, painted the cowl area black while the other plant painted the cowl body color.

I have a red car, and i painted the engine bay black, it looks fine.

 

always body color, i painted my car hugger orange, and the engine bay gloss black, looks good.

 

always body color.... there where dealers that offered a package like "winter rising" and iv heard of them spraying the bays with rubber coatings....
