Roof Rail Weatherstripping removal and installation
Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of restoring most of the interiors for my '91 GTA but had to stop when I came across the installation of the roof rail weatherstripping. Anyone here have done this before? I'd really appreciate some pics or instructions.
Thanks

I already "kind of" removed the driver's side piece but it came out in pieces and there's still weatherstripping inside the rail where the weatherstrip goes. There's gotta be a correct way to do this.

it usually helps to use a heat gun to get some of the adhesive loose; its been there for a while and usually doesn't like to come loose without a little work

flat head screw driver to loosen the adhesive up and rip and push as you go. Then if you want, take the screws out of the metal frame and use some solvent on it to make sure it is compltly clean so the new weatherstripping adhears properly

Re: Roof Rail Weatherstripping removal and installation
Thanks for the advice guys. I took some time last night after work to completely remove the old weatherstrip and install the new one. I had to readjust the window stops so the the window would close. I took some time to grease up the power window mechanism and put some rubber around the locking mechanism metal rods to make it quieter. All new carpet is going in as soon as I finish with the doors and weatherstripping. Seems that my car car is going to be a lot quieter and dryer now
