Re: flames

Flames went out of style in the 70's. Flames on these cars look out of place as much as putting 30" rims and having Cadillac on the rear quarter panel on a 79 Cutlass. Yes, a guy around did that I tried to get a picture.

Re: flames

that's kinda crappy to even say "flames are out of style" who cares what "in style" and who says whats out of style. vesques9 if YOU like flames do flames cuz YOU will be the one driving it. who cares what other think. it seems so childish when people get on these threads and say junk like that. to each his own, enjoy your ride. if someone don't like they have the freedom to look the other way.

i personally like when people get a little crazy with these cars. i think it's boring to see a camaro all one color... that's my opinion but I'm not going to go tell all the people with one colored camaros there out of style according to .... me lol if you ask i'd say "not my thing but hope you like it" ok i'll stop now all i'm saying is have fun with your car, you only get one shot at life and pleasing others ahead of yourself is a waste of time.

I'm not a huge fan of the real fire flames but that does look pretty nice.

Yeah I agree just ask Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch or David Ruetiman right off of the top of my head those are 4 guys that I can remember having flames on their cars oh and just in the last few years too. In my opinion flames will never go out of style.

Well said.

Those are pretty cool too, my only concern would be that not many people would notice and it takes the same amount of work for regular flames and I'm sure the paint would be more expensive too.

I personally don't really care for that, I think stripes look great and flames look great but the combo doesn't do much for me.

To the original poster, I haven't seen any flames that look real good on 3rd gens yet so I would love to see what you can come up with. Flames are awesome and in my opinion a timeless paint scheme. However from what I have seen on 3rd gens the simpler paint scheme the better personally the most beautiful 3rd gens (camaros especially) are the solid red, black or yellow ones. But I would love to see what you come up with.

This looks good. The car with them down the side on top of the hood look cheesy. This body style looks best when it's kept simple.

When building a nice ride you want to be able to show it off and have people go wow that's nice. Not laugh because you added highjackers, big wide tires, painted flame and side pipes. I have seen these cars done like that. <--- This is just an example because some people can't understand in this forum without pointing out the obvious.
