Re: PAINT HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Never heard of this site or the brand. I use PPG brands shopline series for low cost jobs. This paint is a single stage where the clear coat and color go on as the same coat. It does have the option to add a clear coat over it. I would recomend a paint system that is a base coat/clear coat system. You will want to do your body work first. Then generally any areas that are filler only you will want to use an epoxy primer on. Areas that have bare metals will need a self etch (acid) primer. Then block sand all painted areas. After primer you will apply a sealer which will give the color coat a uniform color to be applied to. For a basecoat/clear system coat you will apply two color coats (the first coat needs to be light as well as uniform.) This will be followed by two coats of clear.

Re: PAINT HELP!!!!!!!!!!
I'm about three hours or so away, close to Myrtle Beach. I'll be glad to help any way I can. I can send you my cell # if you want. Pics in my album of my car/work.
Unless you are going to keep the car inside, stay away from the "candy" colors. That stuff fades by the day. Base clear is best IMO. Even in shopline.
Beach bash for f-bodies is comming up soon. Hope to see you there.

Re: PAINT HELP!!!!!!!!!!
If you are going black, there is a paint called concept black by ppg(dcc9000) . I personally use it all the time down at the shop. And I highly reccomend it. It is single stage but think of it this way its basically a clear with tint in it. I have seen vehicles painted with it years ago that still look amazing, in fact we (the shop) just did a 79 vette with it and it looks amazing. If you really want that mirror finish, lay 3 or 4 good coats then sand it down a bit with 2000 grit sandpaper (wet) then buff it out. (for buffing I recommend Pretas system http://www.prestaproducts.com/Ultra_...S-details.aspx)
