my GTA has a nasty lookin front bumper..bought it that way. the paint is chipping at every corner and there are some big pieces missing. but as far as i know, it's just the paint issue, the bumper itself appears to be in ok shape, but i'm not sure.

the color of the car is pearl white, and here are my ideas-
1. prep the original bumper for a repaint of a gloss or metallic white for temporary looks until i can afford a all new paint job

2. buy a new/used bumper that is already white and not worry about it until i can afford a new paint job.

this will be just a temporary thing because i hate looking at the front of the car right now

so what should i do?

 

sanding and repainting should work fine, most likely whoever painted it before didn't put anything in the pain to make it flex with the bumper. matching a pearl is gonna be very hard though so it may be off. depends on the skill of your painter

 

here's the thing though, i was gonna do it myself, and i was just going to use a plain white or cream or something to kinda match, but i know i won't get pearl to match good. this would be for temporary only. just so the bumper doesn't look quite as bad. and i want to do the cheapest route and at the same time get decent looks for the price i pay.

 

can you post a pic of it? im sure thatd help me and others say what is the best way to temporarily fix it.

ya that should easily get fixed with sanding and painting, just make sure you use paint that wont flake off again. lolz

 

I am using a bra until I paint the whole car. Cheap, easy and effective.

 

it has a bra, but i hate how they look IMO.

 

hey you need to align your hood and headlights

 

Paint it black, make it look like a cover. Hell, you could even get some ruberized undercoating, or some truck bed liner and do a real good job and you'd have a perm.

 

I think anything you do for a temporary fix is just going to make it look worse than it does now. Just save your money for a paint job, and do it right.
