dimmer switch/ignition lock loose, help

Hey guys, my 90 Formula has a problem. The dimmer/turnsignal switch is a little loose as is the ignition switch. The brights won't turn on unless the tilt column is in the highest position. I asked my buddy who is a GM Tech and he said there is two small bolts that hold these to the column from behind. They must be accessed with the lower kick panel removed. Anyone heard of this? I'm going to try to find it in the 90 Service Manual I have but just wanted to check with you guys. Any ideas?
