You are correct you will have to drill out the rivets holing the inside one on.

The out side one i a little more simple,if i remember correctly all that holds it on are 2 10 or 12mm bolta and the rod that goes to the latch.

well i just took mine off the car last night(shaving them) I recommend saying the hell with them and SHAVE THEM!!! hehe no seriously, you will ahve to drill out the rivits like the other guy said.. and he was right, its 2 10 mill self tapping nuts that hold it on with the rod... thats it.. real easy to get at too with an end wrench from the inside once the door skin is off the inside.

Sure, it would be cool to have shaved door handles, and I think it makes for a much better appearance. What if your battery goes dead? Are you locked out or is there some kind of a back-up battery to prevent this form happening? Thanks.

You have three options that i know of. The worst one would be have a manual pull lever under the car. You could do the extra battery, or you could climb in through your trunk unless you decide to shave that lock as some others have done.

one more option is to keep the door locks and use them to open the door no worryin about dead battery just modify the rod that opens the door from the outside handle to connect to the lock cylinder i would highly recommend taking out the rod that locks the door from inside this way theres no chance of locking the door by accident set up like that theres no way to lock/unlock the door from outsidealso pull the wires off power lock actuator so you dont hit it either

oops forgot backups for elect doors.for dead bat put a set of external bat posts on car(like drag cars use)dont forget your remote, if the bat dies in it have a high grade switch on the car some place be it a sealed push button or a marine starter switch(which i recommend for security)nothin is foolproof if the elect motor dies that opens the door dies your screwed chances are very slim they would both go out at the same time at least you can still open it from inside then theres always the old reliable goin in thru the hatch
