Water in the door

Since you guys seem to be the know all maybe you could help me out. I had alot of water inside the passenger side door. It dosen't seem to have hurt the power windows. I pulled the rubber plugs from the bottom of the door to drain it. I think the seal along the outside window is shot. Will this be hard to replace? What will it entail?

nothin hard at all, I think there's like 5 bolts that hold it on, just roll the window down, take off the door pannel and you should be able to get to them.

Unfortunatly replacing the outer belt weatherstripping it isn't quite that easy,

-Take your door panel off (and roll down the window)
-Remove the filler panel (black thing behind the mirror, 3 nuts hold it in)
-loosen or remove the inner pads/braces against the glass
-Depending on the year (or car too I guess) the original w/s was heald either by 7mm hex screws or phillips.
* whichever yours is held with,, you will need an offset ('L' shaped) phillips to get the screws out, I found the little cheap one Craftsman puts in their screwdriver sets works perfectly. A 7mm box wrench will take the hex screws out easily

Installation is reverse of removal

Hope that helps

Oh yea,, also,, you might want to make shure to clean out the inside of your door while the panel is off,, there should be weep holes in the door to let water drain instead of having to pull the plugs out

The first thing to do is make sure those drain holes are in good shape. There should be three (2 on the sides, one in the middle) tiny square drain holes in the bottom of the door. If you need help finding them, pour some water in your other door and watch where it drains. I have the same problem now on my driver's side door which I'll be fixing soon...
