Door Differences

So, I am about to go pick the doors off of a 92' Camaro. Are there any differences I should know about in comparison to the 89' Camaro? Wiring differences for the windows? Longer? Heavier? Any comments are welcome! Thanks.

Not sure about the wiring, but physically they are exactly the same.
I just put some 92 on my 84 and they fit OK.

Re: Door Differences

OP the wiring is hard wired to the car so you will probably be using what is on your car anyway. Not sure about the door lock actuator on the different years but it's easy to change to your original. There are differences on the way the latches bolt up but the change is around the 86 model IIRC. One has countersunk bolts where the later models do not.

Re: Door Differences

No the wiring is basically the same unless it has power mirrors and u don't, DO NOT CUT THE WIRES! Unplug everything (should be 3 plugs) and pull the wire harness back out of the door where it goes in it by the hinges. If u can I'd cut the harness off the parts car incase u break any of ur own plugs, if avoiding cutting if possible. My 91 doors went on my 85 without any mods, all I did was re use my manual mirror because the 91 had power. The door lock actuator and window motors are the same. FYI u can use a 4th gen window motor in a 3rd gen door if u want faster windows, I have 4th gen motors myself
