Shift *****

I'm sure some of you have changed your shifter *****....

I wanan get one from Mallory Billet that has Z28 engraved on it. They market them for the 4 gens and I asked their product sales guy if it would fit my '84 Z28. He said *probably* but I would need to find out what the measurement is on the shifter stem so they can sell it to me with the appropriate thread adapter....

Anyone know what the threading measure on a stock 5 speed shifter stem is in '84? Or have any of you bought a shift from Mallory Billet and already know what I need to do??

I have that billet with Z28 Emblem on it, i bought it from a member on this board, The Thread is smaller than factories, so what i did was put tape around the shifter and put the **** on it so it could hold for the mean time, Nice quality i like it

I got mine from chevymall.com they sell them with the z28 emblem on them too. you might check there and see who has the better price, mine fit NO problem, and the chevymall one came with a couple of adapters, so it could fit any stock camaro shifter.

Thank you both, the information is helpful. I see that the one on ChevyMall.com is the same as the one from Billet (half the price). I appreciate the heads up on ChevyMall.com (save whenever possible, right).

Thanks again. I can order it in the winter and install it when I break the Z back out for Spring/Summer
