Invisible bra..
I know, the title of this thread invites all kinds of jokes, but I was wondering if anyone has had that clear film stuff either professionally applied to your front bumper, or DIY'd it. If so, how does it work/look.. And what's it actually called?

I just call it clear protective film. I've seen it on a ton of cars at work...it usually looks good when professionally installed. Holds up pretty well for 5+ years as long as it's not in direct sunlight all the time. When it's installed right, you can't tell it's there unless you look at the edges of the panel where they cut it.

I work in the sign/graphics industry, and while I personally don't have direct experience with it, "we" used to install it for customers. Overall, I feel that it does work pretty well. Just keep in mind that ultimately it will get dinged up too. It's not magic, but yeah...it does offer more protection than just a bare bumper.
...and as stated, it can yellow over time too. I would ask whoever is going to do it for you what brand they specifically use and do a little research. Remember they won't TELL YOU it'll yellow. Look up some reviews on the internet. Also ask about their warranty if it does yellow.
