Have fiberglass hood, need gas struts

Hello all,
I am looking to replace my stock gas hood struts. I bought these off eBay, somehow missing the "steel hood" portion of the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/391526447698...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They are waaaay to stiff to close a fiberglass hood. I would likely crack or break my hood if I actually pushed hard enough to try and close it. Does anyone have a fiberglass hood and have found any struts that work well with it?

Thanks everyone for taking your time to read and respond.
Rob

P.S. Would be interested in selling these if anyone needs them since they are of no use to me atm.

You can check Rock Auto for a set for a glass or aluminum hood, but it'd probably be easier to find someone with a set too weak to hold up their steel hood, and make a trade.

Re: Have fiberglass hood, need gas struts

Thanks for the reply. I have an old set from when I had my steel hood but it is too weak to hold up the fiberglass ones. Guess I can look around on a local FB group and see if anyone is getting rid of some used ones that might work. Was hoping there was a new set I could get that were set up for a fiberglass hood. Ill run by RockAuto and see.

I found a set in the junk yard that wouldn't hold up the stock hood and they have been holding up my glass hood for a few years now.

Autozone sells decent ones, they all crap out after a few years anyhow.
