Hey guys,

This weekend I am picking up a heavily modified 84 Firebird. It was compeltely converted to look like an 85-90 Trans Am. Very nice car but there is one problem, the interior is the original 84 basic interior, plus it is shot!

Now I ahve this mint black interior from an 89 GTA lying around. I have a buyer for 200$ but if it will fit into my new car I would like to keep it.

So my question will everything swap over correctly without modifications? Becasue if I remember correctly the 82-84 F-Body interior was slightly different from the 85+.

I believe the basic shape of the console and dash are the only noticeable differences between the 82-84 and 85+; if you intend to swap these over as well, there should be no problem outside of possibly some wiring issues (maybe different connectors?). I don't know for sure. Everything should physically bolt in...except for the dash and console in my 83 SC, every piece of the interior is from either an 86 or 89 Firebird.

If your planning on useing the GTA door panels, you have to change the armrest brackets as well. They are differant. I put a 86 interior in a 83 T/A last year. Only problems were the radio box and the console. And they weren't that much of a problem. I don't think I would have had much except I used an auto console in a 5 speed car.
