LS1 front brake swap... what brake lines?
I’m currently putting my frontend back together with all new stuff and doing my LS1 front brake swap at the same time. One problem though…. I’m using the braided stainless “Russell” brake lines and if I use the stock bracket on the strut that holds the brake line, it won’t reach the caliper. I was going to just make a custom bracket to hold the line lower and give me more slack. Any other ideas? What is everyone doing? What brake lines is everyone using? Please shed some light on this.
Thanks!

I usually use 1LE lines from Earl's, they are about 22" in length overall.

Earl's won't sell just the front lines. You'll have to find them elsewhere.

Anyone?? I'm trying to find the part number for the Earl ones. Jeg's doesn't list them and Summit only shows a set for drum cars and disc cars... nothing about 1LE or performance brake option.

I just used the stock 1LE brake lines. I bought them at my local dealer for I think$13 a piece. I had to find the banjo bolts, cause they didn't come with my calipers. I found the right thread pitch on the rear disc brakes from a 1999 s10 blazer.

I bought a set of earls braided lines, just stock length. Then I moved where they mount to the strut, to the other side and flipped it upside down. Had to do a little grinding, but it worked perfectly. I could get some pictures if ya like...........

I used stock-length Earl's brake lines and just did away with the mounts that bolt to the strut. Though I probably could have kept them actually the more I look at things.
