Booster bleeding off vacuum?

Dialing in my carburetor, looking for potential vacuum leaks and testing individual components.

85 T/A, drum brakes.

When I apply vacuum directly to the brake booster it will pull to 18”Hg then stop, it will not go higher. It seems to be holding the applied vacuum.

Is this normal?

Thanks
Rob

Yes, and the 90 degree barbed fitting going into the booster is actually a one-way check valve. If it's good, the booster should hold the vacuum.
