Very reluctantly, I am putting this car up for sale- 1985 IROC L69 5-speed, it has all the good options- 3.73s with G80 which was discontinued about a month after this car was built. It has been in my life since 1993, a buddy of mine bought it from the original owner, and I did all the work on it until his death in 2009. It has 146K on it, and is in surprisingly good shape considering what it has been through. The interior is in really good shape, he stored it protected from the sun for about 10 years. With only 2497 85 L69s built, this is a really special car that needs to be owned by someone who understands what it is , and can give it what it needs. I honestly have no idea what to ask for it, people are constantly knocking on my door to ask if it's for sale, but they seem to top out at about $500. I understand the third gen stigma, but this is no $500 car.

Thanks, chazman, a couple of things I forgot to point out:
It does have the J65 4-wheel discs
The T-5 was completely gone through with all the updated GM parts:
Input shaft, 3RD gear, all bearings,syncros,etc. And of course it is a totally rust free Texas car.

Nice car, exactly what I'm looking for, except for the non T- top.

Can you give a little more information on whats wrong with the motor? Looks like someone was in the process of tearing it down. Looks pretty rusty in the engine bay, did it blow a head gasket? I see your located in Austin, would it be possible to for me to come look at it sometime?

When I got the car in 2009, it was not running and had rodent damage to the fuel pump/fan relay/MAP sensor wiring. I repaired the wiring with new connectors, replaced the plugs & wires, cleaned the fuel system, and it ran great, no cooling issues or blown gaskets. In fact it ran so great, I forgot how quickly an L69 will rev, I hit about 6K rpm and broke a rocker arm. I removed the LH valve cover, hoping it was on the "easy" side, but it's not. I have a set of 1.6 rockers for it, I also do have the original wheels. I'm thinking I want 2K for it, lonestar, PM me your # so we can set up a time for you to look at it.
