Looking for Canadian vendors to save on shipping, know any?

I am in the Calgary area and need to get a tranny crossmember and sub frame connectors. However shipping from the states on a 75lb product is close to +25% of the part cost. OUCH! Does anyone know of reputable Canadian vendors to buy from??

p.s. looking for UMI tranny crossmember and SFC's

performanceparts.ca for some parts.

Personnaly I deal with Summitracing when I can.
Shipping price are actually not bad, duty and taxes either.
2 days fedex most of the time.

I deal locally with Mopac for many parts, however those items are going to be tough to source locally, or even within Canada.

Best bet is to find free shipping to Sweetgrass, Montana and do a road trip. It is an easy day drive from/to Calgary.

Do you have a U.S. post office box?

Nope. I ship parts to the Montana Shipping Outlet in Sweetgrass, then day trip it to pickup up. Stop in Lethbridge for supper at the Firestone Grill on the way home.

You can email them and setup your account information, then ship away. They store packages for free up to 30 days, then small holding fee if you cannot pickup.

Thanks for that. It's something I'll certainly look into.
Now if the Canadian dollar would come up just a little...
There was a time when my good racing friend was working in Chicago and our buck was at par or better. We made out like bandits. We would pack a van to the roof and even after paying the tax on our overages, we were still well below retail on home turf.

I hear Summit Racing is very good for this. Also Motorstate just recently started selling UMI and I hear good with Canada shipments/orders as well?

Montana Shipping Outlet is great, I've used both the Eureka and Sweetgrass locations and I've never had any issues. Orders over $99 from Summit ship free in the USA, so if it's a big enough order it's worth the 3 hour drive

If you have the choice, use Sweetgrass. If you enter through Eureka, you pay PST on top of the GST.

Re: Looking for Canadian vendors to save on shipping, know any?

I'm in SK and bought parts like spohn etc from these guys....

http://fasttoys.net/ca/home.php

They are in Winnipeg and so they make border runs for their parts and then purolator them out. I saved prob 400 on my purchase because they saved me on shipping and duty. highly recommend, great to deal with.

Re: Looking for Canadian vendors to save on shipping, know any?

What kind of parts are you looking for?
OEM? Aftermarket speed parts?
By the way, I couldn't find gmpartspepod.ca. Typo maybe?

Did you try Cross Canada for your front bumper cover? Link: https://ecat.crosscanadaparts.com/ba...T&model=CAMARO

I didn't try them. I have had some verry poor fitting body parts from them for my third gen Firebird. Might as well bash them flat and start over shaping them. This winter I did a rust repair on the 1/4 panel between the wheel well and the door and a lower door skin from Cross Canada was the starting piece for the patch. Worked good. For the 5th gen I am looking for factory or atleast a very good fit
