Really what is the difference between a DVC sub and regular one??...

I noticed on Kicker Comp VR 12's (preferably), that you have a choice of a regular voice coil, or dual ones? And no difference in price. Whats the difference? Why would I want a DVC, why would I want a regular one??
Thanks.

Simple, flexability. If you have an amp that puts out its max power @ 2ohm mono and you have a SVC 4ohm sub, you aren't getting the max power out of your amp. Now if you have a 4ohm DVC sub you can wire the coils in parallel, get a 2ohm load and get the max power out of the amp.

If you have 2 DVC subs and an amp that makes max power @ 4ohm mono you can achieve that load (series coil and parallel subs, assuming the sub is dual 4ohm coils), if you had 2 4ohm SVC subs you could either get a 2ohm load or an 8ohm load not the 4ohm you need.

Its depends on the setup dude. DVC's will cut your ohm load in 1/2 as opposed to SVC's. For some people thats a good thing, for others it means the amp will run at odd ohm loads like 1.5 or even .5 (not good unless U got the right amp). It really depends on the amps you want to run, and choosing between DVC or SVC will allow you to get the most out of your amp.

Give us more info on the rest of the setup ..

In a word, yes, you will get more out of a DVC over the SVC. More flexability, as well as most of the time, power handling.
Go for the DVC VR's......you won't be disappointed.
