BOX Question
BOX Question
Hey everyone,
This is kind of hard to explain so bear with me! Ok, Im planning on getting 2 JL 12W3s for a camaro. I really like those custom trunk boxes to fit in the gap so Im planning on going that way, but I have a question about that. There's specific instructions on the JLs for how to make a box specificed to that perticular sub (as is the case with every sub I assume) but how would a box that fits into a camaro follow those rules? Is the box design in the instructions really that important? Because it just seems that the camaros box is a hell of alot bigger than the one in the instructions for the subs, would that make a difference?

Look up the specs on the subs. Usually the ones that they say use in the booklet is the minimum requirement. My kickers say 2.2 but when I looked them up they said 2.2 to 5.0! I believe the general rule of thumb is for the a sealed box the bigger the area the less tight the subs will be but the more deeper sounding bass is gonna come out.
