Which deck to match my interior lights
in a Firebird? The green lit Kenwood is getting old. I am looking for something that will complement the red/orange dash lights in my bird. Ideas?

I have the Panasonic Ghost face (not 3d matrix) and you can select through about 6 different colors....I have mine on red and it looks great with the dash. I am going to have to get a pic of all of them on. I will be back!!!!

I'm partial to the Alpine CDA-7894, however it's no longer made. I used to have some pictures of it lit at night on my HD , but I can't find them. Button color can be either green or amber.
I would take some pictures of my own 7894 in my GTA, but I uninstalled it the other weekend. (I'm adding an amp.)
Other choices that would look excellent in a Firebird would be Clarion's higher priced decks like the DXZ735MP or DXZ835XP. Both are last year's models, but are still available. Both have lots of color change options for the display.

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP8017 hu, I believe it's a 2001/2002 model though.
The buttons are either lit green or red. I love the way in looks in the Bird - and suits me fine, but to find this deck would be hard.

Widowmaker- if looking for kenwood decks look for the features called "Variable Color Display" and "Selectable key illumination (green/red)"
Im looking at the kenwood catologe and thats there name for what me and F-BodyFanatic are talking about. If it matteres i got the KDC-MPV619 from 2002.
the kenwood mpv 622 or somethin like that can switch all different colors.. red, green, blue, orange, white, light blue.. and it can also scroll them colors. it's a kick *** cd player.

I have the alpine 7894 in my formula the only reason I picked that one was of all the features and you can change the color from green to orange to match the dash lights I happen to have one for sale but it's not complete. needs a faceplate. the faceplate costs about 130.00 from alpine and I would like to have 100.00 for the radio itself. so you would have a little over 230.00 in everything. but it's the perfect radio for the pontiacs with the orange dash. and it's a mp3 player , high power with built in high and low pass crossover and sub woofer control.it was around 450.00 new.

You can change the interior lighting to any color you wish too. All you need is a can of flourescent spray paint.
if there isn't already a tech article, I will write one. I always wanted to change my lighting to blue or green.
