W3 Problems

W3 Problems

Hey everyone,
I have a 12" JL W3, the one with the connectors like this: - anyways, I go to install it, and all I get is really quiet static, what's the problem? I think either the sub is blown, or maybe the wire i'm using is too thin? I've wired it a few ways, but this seems to be the "correct" way to make it 4ohms:

but still, the quiet static. aah! any suggestions?

Make sure you bridged the correct channels on your amp. To test the sub, take a AA battery and hook the + wire to the + terminal on the battery, then - to -. You should see a little movement in the sub. If not, its dead.
