How do ? and a wire size question ?

Im lookin to get a kenwood amp its 800 watts max. Im gonna run one sub , so it says its 460 watts rms bridged. One how do i run all the wires and do it , does anyone have a diagram on how to run stuff and is it easy to hook up all the wires, i think runnin the stuff will be no problem im just worried about the wiring of the amp . Ive installed a cd player b4 and cut and spliced and im goood with mechanical stuff but never hooked an amp up . DO i need 4 or will 8 gauge work . ALso the speaker im lookin at is 300max and 150 rms . Is this ok to have a big amp and a lower amp speaker. btw its a fosgate 12". If you guys have any suggestions thats fine too. I need to be able to get this stuff b4 christmas . I want to spend about 130 -150 on an amp . And then about less than 80 on a 12 inch sub.

hey bro. it would be better if you got a sub that can handle the amp. this just means that you cant use the full power of the amp. yo have to turn the gain down on the amp so you wont blow your sub. I would run 4 gauge wire just in case you want somthing bigger. does the amp have 2 channels??

run 4gau wire. run a 12volt lead from your cd player and also sub out to the amp. the run power from battery to amp and ground cable to the car then to amp really simple to do

yes , its a 2 channel amp , it says it 460 bridged. I guess i will just have to turn the gain down . I think the amp is a real good deal . I dont know if it will be enough, i want to start with this and then if i do it this way i have a big enough amp and just have to buy a different sub.

most speakers will take more power than they're rated at as long as the power is clean...this is why its better to have too much power than not enough

just play it safe cause you wont like it when your subs blow!! they sound like crap. I suggest you put 4 gauge wire for the furture belive me bro your going to want more power. and set the amp to low pass filter. subs are meant to run thats. and if your deck doesnt come with a built in crossover then you might want to look into that. oh yeah. you need to set the frequency level on the amp around 60-90 Hz, more toward 90 though!!

dude......... ill try to decipher this, first it says to get 4awg wire becuase it will suck to have to dig up all your wiring if you want more power and need to upgrade wires. next it says that subs are meant to play low frequencies( you think ) so set the amp or H/U or what ever to play the lower frequencies. id say no more than 125Hz. then it say that you NEED to set the amp to output around 90 hz.. this id say is probably gunna be set to more of your preference.... in general just listen to the subs and tune it to your ears. if you set the freq lower the amp and subs will only play lower freqs.

in order to bridge that amp, just hook the amp up to the sub as usual, positive to positive and negative to negative from both channels and splice them into one wire.
Now you have one positive and one negative wire, plug them into the sub and your good to go.

to bridge 2 subs, hook the subs up as usual, and just run a wire from the positive on sub1 to the positive on sub2, and the negitave from sub1 to the negative on sub2.

WHOA!!!! that is a sure fire way to start... eh a fire. WOW, bridging an amp is easier than that anyways: wire your subs up depending if you want them in series or parallel to each other, then to bridge them to the amp you must wire the subs positive on channel 1 and negative on channel 2. if im correct.
