Complete audio system install 91 camaro

I bought this car a couple weeks ago and of course being the audio enthusiast that I am, I knew it wouldn't be long before I put a system in it. I will say that I worked at the car electronic store in town for a while and I have been doing this as a hobby since I was 12.
I started out with a radio last week, because I just couldn't stand listening to the radio anymore. And the tape player hadnt even worked before.
I got some coaxial pioneer 6x9s from the shop and threw them in the rear. I haven't missed with the speakers on the dash yet, I'm assuming they're stock like the back ones were, but they sound okay for now.

Re: Complete audio system install 91 camaro 2 JL W6 12s

Once I had the deck and highs and mids installed in the back I started thinking about putting some thump behind it. I had the electronic shop build me a blow-through box specifically for my two JL Audio W6s 12s. I had a 1000 watt Crossfire mono block amp in my truck, but I plan on doing two W6s in the bed of that later this week too and that's more of my baby than the car, so I'm gonna buy a Memphis mojo amp for that one for Christmas since they run about 1400 bucks for 4000 watts(:
I wired the amp up with 4 gauge ( please excuse the messy wiring, I still have a capacitor to install before I make it nice and pretty).
If you know anything about JL audios higher quality speakers then you can understand how loud this system is! They gave me a stiff price of 520$ for one new. Luckily, I am a deal seeking **** and I have three of these speakers and have only paid about 700$ for them all together over a period of like 8 months lol.
I'm pretty anxious to put this beast on the decible meter today or tomorrow when I take my truck to the shop for them to build my box, I bet it will do every bit of 140-145 Db's
Anyway, I just wanted to share my quick, cheap, awesome install with everyone!

Re: Complete audio system install 91 camaro

Finished it up and installed the Rockford Fosgate Capacitor. It helped with the lights dimming quite a bit.

How long of amp wire did you use? I need to reinstall a system in my car and I can't for the life of me remember how much wire I used. I wanna say I used 16' for the power line and a ground wire

I'm really not sure man I just went to the audio shop and went through the boxes in the back with extra 4 gauge wiring and took a real long piece. But I know that doesn't help any. I would get at least 20 foot depending on where you want the amp mounted. That should be about right so you won't have to worry about it being short. Plus a short piece for your ground.

Why do people insist on hijacking threads on here all the time every time you read on a post about something someone steps in and post different things for sale outside of topic
