using mp4 player

Is there a way to remove the radio and use a much smaller mp3/4 player as your radio in the car?

Thanks, Ryan

Re: using mp4 player

Something has to amplify the signal. Most car stereos, both factory and otherwise have small amplifiers in them. Many of us have aftermarket amplifiers, which theoretically you could supply signal directly from your MP3 player with the proper connector. You'd need to wire up the amp to come on with the ignition, since normally it's run off the stereo, but that should be pretty easy.

I've actually thought about doing something similar, but ultimately decided that a stereo actually looks better than nothing, lol!

Edit- What's your goal?

My goal is to get rid of the car radio altogether and just plug an ipod style device in.

Lanzar makes a Blue Tooth amp that would basically eleiminate the radio and you could use your phone. The model number is a HTG558BT. It is a five channel with 4 X 250W + 1 X 650W RMS @ 4 Ohms.
