I have a pyramid amp hooked to 2 MTX 4000 10's in the hatch. It sounds pretty good. What do you all think of the pyramid amp series.

They make great door stops!
Seriously though, this is not a personal flame or anything, but I find that most people don't realize how bad something sounds until they hear better. I remember a time I thought my Jensen speakers and amps sounded awesome! And now, I consider MB Quart speakers bare minimum in acceptable sound.
There is only one thing that matters in audio: do YOU like how it sounds.
Enjoy.

In all honesty, I agree. I've opened up a Pyramid amp to look inside before and I laughed so hard I dropped the amp. 1 tiny printed board with a couple FETs sticking up, in a chassis 4 times the size of the entire board.

I used to see a lot of blown-up Pyramid stuff come in for repairs at the store I used to work at. Usually for the same cost as a repair you can just go buy another Pyramid or cheapo-somethin amp.

Is there any way to tell how much power an amp is REALLY putting out? I have a pyramid 600 watt. If anyone happens to know the real output, let me know. Thanks.

depends on the distortion level. At a reasonable THD, the amp might do an honest 30 watts into a reactive load, maybe 50 into a purely resistive load with 1 channel driven.
