amp for speakers?

i already have a kenwood cd player, 4x6s, 6x9s, (2) 10s and a 600w 4ch amp bridged going to the 2 subs.
question is: i have a 600w 4 ch, boss amp layin around, should i just hook the 4x6s, and 6x9s to the amp or continue to run them from the cd player? the whole interior is out of the car now.
the speakers are wired with 12 guage now, probably overboard but better than what was in there. i just want the cleanest sound possible. i will also replace the boss amp with a low watt kenwood 4ch amp someday if i do go the amp route.

would there be a noticable differance?

i,ve got a full alpine system and when i hooked up an amp to my 6X9's it made a huge difference. I blew 1 set of alpine 6X9's and 2 Rockford audio's off my deck, apperently because the signal from the deck is too distorted when it is at high volume, so its better to use an amp to send a crisp signal to the speakers.

really, blew 3 sets of 6x9s off the head unit? thats crazy, and i thought i like my music loud.
guess im gonna wire up the amp then
i think im gonna take the shorter (about 3 ft) 12 ga wire in the dash and use it for the 6x9s, and swap the long 12 ga wire and send it up the dash to the 4x6s. and mount the amp next to the kenwood amp in the rear.

Definatly hook up the amp. You'll notice a huge differance immediatly. It'll have no problem plain' loud either.

Which Kenwood 4x6's do you have? The Excelons can only handle 20watts RMS. And you plan on throwing how many watts to them?

Just use a high crossover point like around 220hz and you should be ok if you keep the gain turned down some.

I think you already know the answer to that one. Yes.

i need to get a new head unit now
im really wanting another kenwood
but am considering an alpine

if i can get a good deal on a kenwood excelon cd player
im thinkin i could keep my eyes open for a good deal on an excelon amp. so i could control the power to the amp from the front seat.
how does this kenwood setup work?
would i want to hook the excelon amp to the 4 speakers or get a more powerful one and hook it to the 2 10's

everything is wired up now. the interior is in (i gotta get pics)
i just need a cd player and drop the box and amp in now.
thanx,
TJ
