hey every one i had some major troubles with the old non cc q jet with the choke messed up and it running really bad and very rich.... I have a lg4 .30 over hei vac. advance jegs dizzy. also a mellings 204 214 cam

So i went and bought a holly 650 carb with elec choke. put it on tonight with the spacer/adapter to the intake hooked every thing up and when i start the car it jumps to 3000 rpm and holds till i stab the gas and then it works its way down then it dies and the choke light is still on. but it dies.


Also im in a pretty high elevation about 5000ft whats going on is it the choke idle, the curb idle??? also im not sure on my timing cause i dont have timing makes so do i need to advance it or retard the timing i belive it could be advanced a bit

Sounds like a giant vacuum leak....

Lok at the carb's power brake hookup; throttle plate, center rear.

thanks for the help thats what i thought it was i just couldnt find it till i mess with the carb and and the back of it had a gap between the intake manifold and the spacer plate, the bolts were not tightening down bought some different ones and its all sealed up and running great thanks....
