1411 750 edelbrock running rich ,flooding after a re-jetting??
After going through lots of post about this issue with this carb I decided to post my own expierence with figuring out what was making my new 383 smoke all most like it was getting to much fuel the smoke color was bluish white smoke first I thought maybe coolant checked all my levels nothing was low I also looked at the oil seemed good. Next I went to check fuel pressure it was at 6.5 bumped it down to 4 1/2 to 5 psi. After that i figured it had to be the carb so i checked floats and re-Jetted the carb only to find that the newly purchased remanfactured carb was jetted totally wrong like to jet sizes up off and the metering rods where also grinded in 1/2 at the tip. After finding this I re-jetted the carb ran the car and checked my plugs they where perfect after the re-jet. Ran it more and same thing still smoking arhhhhhh!!! Checked oil again and there it was gas oil mix changed oil and finally no smoke on idle, acceleration or deceleration. the carb was dumping tons of fuel right in to the oil and getting into the combustion chamber I was thinking the valve seals in the heads were shot but ended up being a simple carb adjustment and oil change
Just thought I'd post this for any one in the future that my have similar issues and who use the to figure out problems
