How to rewire oil pressure and tach gauge after carb swap
Hey all,
I swapped my tpi to carb and everything is good to go except I need to rewire my oil pressure gauge and tachometer. I am using stock gauges and got an adapter for the tachometer but need some suggestions on how to hook it all up. I do not have the ecu in the car anymore and need to tap into the old wires but do I have to remove the dash to get to them?
Thanks in advance.

just connect the same connectors back up. the ecm is not needed for the gages.

yup. the oil pressure wire is tan IIRC? it comes out of the drivers side of the firewall.

The actual connector for the oil pressure gauge sensor wire was located on the TPI ECM harness, so; if you remove the ECM harness, then you've got no oil pressure connector !!
The Oil pressure wire connects from the ECM harness to the Engine harness thru a 2 wire connector near C100,.... then runs into the car thru C100 and to the dash.
Here's the plug you need to look for on the engine harness:
No need to deal with this at the cluster. Find that plug in the engine bay, cut the tan wire, and splice the correct oil pressure sensor connector onto it and simply plug it into the sensor - DONE !
