305 TBI swapped to Carb. Questions?

So I recently purchased a 87 sport coupe with a 305 TBI and with only 40,000 miles. just found out today that it has E4ME quadrajet carb on it. I can tell it was a swap because there is an Rochester adapter plate between it and the intake. the car had been sitting in storage since 2000. and I think the conversion was also done before then. I was just wondering what I should look for to make sure the conversion was done right and if there is anything I should worry about.

it has a mechanical fuel pump mounted on the block but I also know it has a working fuel pump in the trunk is this an issue?

'87 didn't have TBI from the factory.

What's the 8th character of your VIN? I'll go out on a limb and say it's an "H".

Got a picture of this adapter? A few overall photos of the engine compartment would help, too. With and without the air cleaner would be helpful.

Stock LG4. '87 was the last year for them. It was a unique year for compression (9.3:1, vs. 8.5:1 early and 9.5:1 in '85 & '86), center bolt valve covers, roller lifters, small-cap HEI distributor with divorced coil, and both in-tank electric and engine mounted mechanical fuel pumps. Arguably the finest year of the LG4. Then they went to TBI as the base V8 the next year.

What looked like an adapter under the carb is just the throttle base plate. Part of the carb, just a different color.

Just to add some information to what's been said - Rochester was the wholly-owned fuel systems division of general motors. They designed the Quadrajet and the E4ME system. When you see that logo it's not an aftermarket part.
