Dual plane that fits a 1206 port

Hey guys,

What's a good dual plane intake that isn't very tall that will cover a 1206 port? I don't want to weld and mill another intake, if possible. I'd love a performer or performer RPM but I don't think they have enough material to cover the top of the port.

Re: Dual plane that fits a 1206 port

Kinda wondering why you would want a dual plane on a 1206 port?

Unless this is a 5000 rpm big cube motor. Thats the only way it would make sense.

CHEVROLET 262-400 SMALL-BLOCK V8
VICTOR JR. 23° (3500-8000 RPM)
These versatile manifolds are excellent for many applications from high-performance street to drag/circle track racing. They provide maximum performance for engines with standard port location, iron and aluminum cylinder heads. The low-profile of the #2975 works well in applications with minimal hood clearance and where 1" or 2" spacers can be used for performance tuning. When carb spacers are not allowed, the #2999 should be used. #72975 features a pre-assembled ready to bolt-on direct port nitrous system out-of-the-box! The Victor Jr. Port Matched #2900 manifold has CNC-blended port exits that match any competition head using Fel-Pro gasket #1206.

Also CNC Ported
CHEVROLET 262-400 SMALL-BLOCK V8
SUPER VICTOR 23° (3500-8000 RPM)
Designed for heads with a standard port location, the runners match the "flat floor" entry of the latest 23° heads. Carb pad height is 5-1/2" (from end seals) and overall, the #2925 is about one-inch taller than our Victor Jr. intake #2975. Runners have a 2.80 square-inch cross-section. #72925features a pre-assembled ready to bolt-on direct port nitrous system out-of-the-box! Super Victor CNC #2825 is CNC machined in all critical areas, plenum chamber, port exits, divider walls and runner roofs for optimum performance and out-of-the-box convenience.

Recommended intake gasket: Edelbrock #7201 For #2925/#29254 and Fel-Pro #1206 for #2825.

Re: Dual plane that fits a 1206 port

From AFRs site:

INTAKE GASKETS: AFR #6820 gaskets Fel-Pro #1206 should be used for 210, 220, 227, 235 & 245 heads. AFR #6810 gaskets Fel-Pro #1205 should be used on the 195 street heads, the 195 competition PKG heads use AFR #6820 Fel-Pro #1206. We recommend AFR #6817 gasket Fel-Pro #1256 for 180 heads. A small amount of silicone is recommended around the water ports and the bottom of the intake ports. For 180 LT-1 reverse cool applications use GM gaskets or Fel-Pro #1284, for AFR 195, 210 & 227 LT-4 use AFR #6860. On some applications it is advised to eliminate the cork end gaskets and use a bead of silicone instead. Do not port match your manifold exactly to the gasket–leave .050" per side smaller. Do not port match your intake manifold to the above Fel-Pro gaskets because Fel-Pro doesn’t precisely fit AFR heads.

For your AFR 210 heads:

Recommended Components:Intake Gasket, Fel-Pro #1206
Important: Do not port match your intake manifold to Fel-Pro gasket as it does not precisely fit AFR heads. 412", done by 6000 RPM.. Peak HP is about 5800.

Have a 7,000RPM intake on it right now..

Re: Dual plane that fits a 1206 port

If its the blower setup i wouldnt bother changing

If not the vic jr is like the step up from a dual plane to a single for large motors. On that engine it wont give up much if anything down low and make more above 5000+.

Else max ported performer rpm and go as much on the port size as you feel comfortable getting it to seal. It doesn’t have to be 1206 but something between is fine

The miniram is obnoxious to tune. I've run these intakes a few times, and without full sequential (like my C4) it's not possible to trim the cylinders.

I was thinking, tempted, about switching to a 4 injector throttle body, like ez-efi, running blow through.

I'm not sure if the performer RPM has enough material to cover the port, I think it's short on the top like some of the early HSR's. I welded an intake before, takes forever for the machine shop to get to it to mill it flat. Don't wanna wait a month.

Re: Dual plane that fits a 1206 port

Hard to say i havent seen them in person but it should atleast go to 1205 and have material around the port to cover a 1206. Bit of rtv around the edge will seal fine

Weiand stealth 8016 might be ok too
