JFYI: New Vortec Manifold

I saw this new Vortec Carb manifold with EGR provision for those of us who need to conform to emission status. I believe the Vortec heads have the heat crossover provisions as well. Combine the low buck Vortec heads with this new carb manifold and an EGR and some of us are set. Just thought I'd let some of you know, if you didn't.

Not to be contrary, but I believe that manifold has been available for several months. I saw it on display at a local dealer in at least May. I don't know why the web site calls it "new", perhaps because they've just added it?

But, other than that, the Vortecs do have the crossover, so the ERG will work.

Hmm, Ok then, thanks five7kid. No wonder so many are running vortec heads.

The vortec heads don't have a heat crossover passage. I don't know how a manifold could.

82z, if you look at the webpage for the Vortec heads, they do have heat crossover passeges (the port right smack in the middle of the intake ports). Could be a new added feature from when they first came out.

Are you sure that's the right picture for the heads? The Vortec engines I have seen all pull exhaust for the EGR from a tap at the rear of the dr. side manifold. On the picture of the manifold you can see a small hole on the opposite side of the carb flange from the EGR valve that looks like it was made to take a small piece of tubing
