What do u think of my redone rear panels?
I was gonna have them done at a fabrication place, but they wanted $250
per panel and i just dont have the kind of money so i decided to try it myself. I decided to go with the same color as the carpet in the car and the bottom is the same material as my door panel. Let me know what you think

You'd really have to show them installed. They look kinda funky right now. lol.
Here is what i did. I think they looked/worked great. But it was a major pain in my **** to do it at the time w/ the tools i had. I think i might try doing fiberglass next time.
FYI - The speaker is actually recessed so everything is flush w/ that mini arm-rest thing. Also, it was covered with black/charcole felt.

I never did get a pic w/ the grill on it. But it was nice.

Let me know what you thinkSo what was covering it originally? Mine had sewn vinyl, and looked fine but didn't match my new seats. I got some extra material that's on my seats and had the local upholstery cut and sew it together using the old cover as a template for $35. A can of contact cement to glue it back on and I was as good as new.
I've seen some older panels that looked like they had a mixture of fabrics layered on top of each other. If that's the case I can see where it would be expensive to invent the patterns needed to cover it in one piece.

mine was a grey carpeted material, not vinyl. I wanted to go to a vinyl or leather material, but they wanted 200+ for each panel. The panels were shot, they had stains and some holes in them. So it was either i figure out how i can redo it myself or leave them ripped and stained. I had extra material left from when i redid my carpet, so i just used that. I tried using leather, but unless you have a sewing machine to do seams, its pretty much impossible without having wrinkles and bumps
The pictures dont really do them justice though, i think the flash is giving them that sparkly look, but they arent really like that.

Sorry if you took it wrong, your's look good! I was infering that if you didn't have anything original with seams to pattern, it would be either impossible or really expensive to re-cover in vinyl.
I hear you on the flash.. My interior looks awesome until you flash it. Three things the same color look completely different depending on what they are made of.

Na dont sweat it shr00m, i didnt think you were knocking me, i was just giving a little more background so everyone knew where i was coming from and what i had to work with. You right with the vinyl/leather though, if you dont have the seams and have no way to make them, you are pretty much screwed, another reason i went with the carpet material
A little hot glue, prep work and time and you can do anything
