What color are your sunvisors?
I know it seems like a strange question, but I was wondering if you have a factory convertible, IE 87=92 Camaro or a 91-92 Firebird, what color are your sunvisors...
Obviously Black Interiors would have Black visors, but if you have a Gray, Tan, Beechwood, Carmine, Red, or what other color than Black interior, are your visors the same as the interior or Black?
John

Re: What color are your sunvisors?
I suspect that the "Factory Convertibles" would have come with Black, the conversions would have used the original sunvisor as to save money.
It would make sense...

Re: What color are your sunvisors?
I'm guna throw you a curve
Both ASC cars, both have Ttop visors(curved)
92 JY T/A vert, grey interior, black visors (Black seats, not factory I have pix of it new with grey seats.)
89 Formula 350 vert, grey interior, grey visors.
this car obviously was TTOP car. I pulled the black windshield trim panel off (to remove the CB mount) and I can see where ASC removed the Ttop center bar.

Re: What color are your sunvisors?
Technically Black is absence of Color.... IE if you have a can of brand new Red paint for your car, and you were to climb inside, and put the lid back on... What color would be the Paint... Black is the Answer.
Interestingly it is like your Monitor... When you turn it off, it turns black because there is absence of color... There was that one exception TV that was Blue... But that was just strange, never caught on.
That is because the 1992 is a "Factory" car, it has an RPO and converted by ASC... The 89 is technically a T-top car that was converted by ASC for a dealer... Without looking at a convertible RPO sheet, I suspect that part of the RPO structure probably included that the headliner was to be black in all convertibles, therefore cars with the Convertible RPO I suspect were shipped with Black sun-visors to ASC, T-top cars that were converted for Dealers re-used the original sun-visors to save money, thus why they had colored sunvisors... My 89 also has/had gray sunvisors... I had an extra set of new Black visors I used.
BLAM! Going... GOING!! GONE!!! I hit another one out of the park...

this car is a CONFIRMED TTOP car. I pulled the black windshield trim panel off (to remove the CB mount) and I can see where ASC removed the Ttop center bar.

Re: What color are your sunvisors?
Grey Cloth Interior, Black Sunvisors.
Since we are talking sunvisor originality, I have 2 different brackets. Both visors are the curved and the passenger side has the wholes punched for the mirror. the drivers side is a black bracket with a set screw. The passenger side is silver(zink) with no hole for the set screw. The drivers black bracket looks more finished. The silver bracket is a different edge profile and does not look right but it fits right in place. If I had to guess the drivers is correct as it looks right. Where did this other bracket come from? Where earlier years silver with no set screw?

T-top/ ASC Convertible are one style and Hard Top are a second style, not only are the visors different the brackets that hold them are too. They may interchange but they would not be correct. Considering that about half of the 3rd gens out there were T-top cars they should not be hard to find.
