That’s a shame. Sorry to hear that but I hope you can get your bird back to where you want it to be soon.

Fuel Pump $0.00 (AutoZone)
Steel Reinforced Epoxy $7.00
Fuel Strainer $8.75
Fuel Line $2.18
Hose Clamps $3.27

Replaced the Fuel Pump. The Pulsator appeared to be cracked and an immediate replacement was not locally available so I bypassed it with a piece of hose & clamps. Replaced the rubber lines that connect to the Fuel Tank. Muffler will need to be replaced...

Re: 1991 Bird

As 1991 Bird is my Daily Driver I'm averaging about 1,200 miles a month...

I'd been putting off servicing the Transmission since I wanted to upgrade to a deep style transmission pan.

The automatic transmission fluid whilst clean smelled a little weird and was significantly discolored. I reckon it's the original ATF.

I removed a little over 3 quarts and replaced it with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF.

ATF $26.14
Siphon Pump & Drain Container $7.05

Transmission Service FX3 (Flush, Filter & Fluid) postponed till 2019

Re: 1991 Bird

Nice to see your still at it with this one, keep at it and keep posting, I'm doing a bunch of mundane repairs to mine at the moment...fuel pump, brake lines/shoes/cylinders/end links etc etc and I gather inspiration from threads like this.
Would like some feedback on those KYB adjustable rear shocks if you get a chance, seen them on amazon, they seem like good value for money.

How exactly are you getting so much stuff from Autozone for $0.00 - are you shoplifting or do you work there and they have a very liberal employee borrow program?

Re: 1991 Bird

I don't do much spirted driving so the BF Goodrich G Force Sport COMP2 tires from Post #15 were overkill for my 50m commute. I opted for Yokohama AVID Ascend GT tires in a slightly higher profile 45 vs 40 to soften the ride.

Front Tires $225.98
Front Wheel Spacers $38.50
Mounting & Balancing $0.00 (Allen Tire)

Ahh the secret to my thrifty ways

When you see $0.00 from AutoZone it usually means that it’s an item with their Lifetime Warranty that I have previously purchased for a different Pontiac Firebird. I own a 1989 Formula 350 and a 1990 Trans AM.

I did but Auto Up & Down works great for Passenger's Side but Driver's Side Auto Up doesn't work, I have to hold it as per Stock. I initially contacted formula1LE and he replied that he would send me a replacement module but that was back on 04/21. I've sent him my address along with numerous other replies to no avail. It's ironic you should ask because prior to your reply I sent him a PM and checked his ThirdGen Account (Last Activity: 04-25-2019 08:12 PM). I also checked his Thread @ https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...relay-kit.html

The part numbers are printed on the module but I'm going to wait it out...

Seems like an overly complicate and expensive system with a lot more points of failure...
Compared to something like this.

I know he gets overwhelmed and isn’t the best at responding but I hope it works out for you. I’m happy with mine and if I replaced my window motors suspect the system would work even better (aka faster).

Thats interesting, may look into this for my Formula. Wonder what all is involved with integrating it into factory wiring. Formula1Le’s system is very bulky but it is plug and play which is nice.

I put one in my 92 Firebird. It's not hard, you basically just have to cut the wires to/from the motor and switch and splice them in to the module, then connect power to the module and connect the grounds. I had my dash carrier out and I wanted to upgrade the wiring too, the factory 16 gauge is too small for this application IMO, so I made a new harness for the window motors with 12 gauge and connected it to this box. I also depinned the switch connectors, rather than cutting the wires, and put in new terminals for the control, so I can just go into the console if I want and put the wiring back to stock, then use the original wires to the motors in the doors. My windows open about as fast as the "window racer" windows, from the videos I have watched. I also cleaned and re-lubed my window tracks

Yep

A Black Convertible Top with a Glass Window would be ideal!

Re: 1991 Bird

Only when they were on the 84, but its the same install on the 89. GW/alston, just barely make them out.

Saleen used to sell these under "areocamaro".

The Passenger Side Front seems a bit off as it doesn’t align properly.

Re: 1991 Bird

Ouch, poor bird.
Might be the pic. They're wider at the back than at the front, since they are welded to the ends of the sub frames.
