1992 Camaro RS Convertible tonneau switch
Anyone have a diagram for a 92 camaro RS showing the tonneau switch wiring? I have no voltage but all my fuses are good. Only switch in the trunk operates that light and functions correctly. What am I missing?
I read on here that there should be 2 relays near the shifter / parking brake under the console. (one small for the tonneau and one large for something else) Only one found. A fairly big one with an arrow pointing to the front. Is this the one the tonneau switch operates? (Or suppose to operate ) The wires are a different color than the ones on the switch itself.

Re: 1992 Camaro RS Convertible tonneau switch
What is the condition of the trunk pull-down unit? It must function properly for the tonneau switch to work. For the convertibles, there is a bracket attached to the side of the frame of the trunk pull-down unit that has a white switch in it. That switch is used to tell the tonneau switch it is safe to open the tonneau. The trunk must be closed for the tonneau switch to fire the tonneau solenoids. The trunk and tonneau occupy the same real estate when open.

Re: 1992 Camaro RS Convertible tonneau switch
Thanks for the reply Lon.....
The trunk operates by key only, no pull down unit and no release button either. There is only a metal "micro" switch that operates the light.
I have looked at the wiring diagrams and info from ALLDATA but it has the wrong information for my car. The wires running to solenoids are blue not red..? The relay under the console is fairly large with an arrow pointing forward. (see pic) but matches nothing I have found in the diagrams.
Looking at the wiring diagram, the only reason I would have no voltage at the switch was if the fuse was bad or the relay coil was burnt. Problem is that I have no clue where the relay is... trying to avoid ripping the interior out to trace wires. But neither of the wires from the tonneau switch ohm out back to that pictured relay or the parking brake switch.
The relay under the console has a yellow 3 pin connector, 1 yellow wire, 1 yellow /blk and 2 white wires in the 3rd position. I haven't found any of the power distribution to match this configuration either..
If you have any other things to check, please share. I appreciate the help.

The "relay" you shown on the picture is NOT a relay - it's an Airbag deceleration sensor.

Any luck finding a wiring schematic? Is there a fuse in the panel for this.? I had a problem with the switch a yr. or so ago and my system is not working again. My switch is working and can't find a spot in the panel for a fuse. want to start with the basics.

Re: 1992 Camaro RS Convertible tonneau switch
After taking out the console and carpet/interior (had to re-upholster before I wanted, lol) I finally found the relay under the carpet in the "general" location of where it was supposed to be. The coil was burned out stopping the voltage/current there... so no voltage at the switch. The fuse should be on the "ACC" line under the dash, left hand side. Hope this helps you.
