Choosing a New Cconvertible Top
Anyone have some advice to give on which top is the best quality between Tops-on-Line, EZ ON, and Robbins? They all appear to be made from the same fabric so the difference, if any, would have to be the quality of the cut and stitching of the seams. Price differences are about $100-$120 between the three at Tops-on-Line. Any experiences, god or bad, would be worth hearing.

Re: Choosing a New Cconvertible Top
I bought a Tops on Line convertible top with the glass window in it. The quality is very good and the fit also. I really like the glass window and would not consider the vinyl one. I have been very please with it and it has been on there for about 6 years. That is my opinion. Hope it helps.

Usually top companies offer vinyl for cheaper..
Also there’s 3 different style tops
-87-early 88
-late 88-91
-91-93
Something like that.. they give you measurements to follow to know which one you have..
Convertible Top Guys have the vinyl listed as “original” but I think the canvas is original material with sewn in plastic window.. many people prefer the glass window..

Nice link! I wonder if you can get canvas with white stitching, like the factory?

Re: Choosing a New Cconvertible Top
Thanks for your input. I have a Stayfast Pinpoint top now but it is 15 years old and a hard life here in Florida. I plan to use the same fabric but with the price variations between several suppliers, it is difficult to know the quality level of the stitching and fit. That is what I want to here about since I will pick one of the many suppliers out there and would like to order with confidence. I am aware of the different sizes for our cars and plan to research any companies suggested by fellow Thirdgen'ers. Your opinions count to me.

Re: Choosing a New Cconvertible Top
I was under the impression the Canvas was the original equipment..
I think the canvas options are around $500 and the Vinyl ones look to be around $300
It looks like on that site there are variations in the weave of the canvas?
I’d maybe call them and even ask if you can get samples?

Re: Choosing a New Cconvertible Top
I’d prefer glass.. my top and window is in pretty damn good shape, but the plastic window sucks..
I usually have the top down, but backing up in certain lighting with the plastic window is no good..
