Fan doesnt work

I have a 91 Camaro RS with the stock single electric fan. My car keeps overheating and the fan isnt turning on, neither cycling nor with the ac. any thoughts on what might be wrong or what i should look at for problems? Might is be a sensor? which one? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely you have a bad fan relay or a bad fan motor or a loss of 12 volts. Locate the fan relay unplug it and look at the plug and the relay pins. If they look burnt most likely the relay is the problem. With the fan relay unplugged you can jump the two large wires with a test jumper and the fan should run, even with the key off. If it does motor OK. If it does not check for 12 volts at one of the heavy wires. Also you can sustitute the blower motor relay for testing, they are the same thing. NAPA # for fan relay should be AR-279.

today, i tested a few things:

The fan motor works
The relay works
The temp sensor (on the intake manifold next to thermostat) gave resistance (not sure what it should be tho)

The next thing that im gunna try is the fuse for the fan and the power line from the relay. anything else i should try? thanks for ur time

just because the relay click does not mean its good. The contacts could be bad. make sure you jump the two heavy wires DON'T short to one of the thinner ones. Use a heavy enough wire or a pair of needle nose pliers if you hold the wire and its too small a guage you'll get a nice burn. Those motors pull over 10 amp when they start.

on the drivers side, near the firewall.

and i found out what was wrong with mine....

the plug that goes into the relay was loose, and thus it was a faulty connection. thanks for you help. I really appreciate it....:hail: :hail:
